This page lists every photograph and illustration used in the site design, and the kinds of images carried over with the content of the former regional websites. Captions name each place as the source agency’s own caption does.
Photographs
All photographs except the Heʻeia Fishpond panorama are works of the U.S. federal government and are in the public domain in the United States (17 U.S.C. 105). No attribution is required for them; the credits below are a courtesy. The files were cropped and resized for this site, converted to the sRGB colour space where needed, and their embedded metadata (including any location data) was removed.

Images from the former regional websites
These images come with the migrated content, not the site design:
- Video thumbnails from the original YouTube videos (via the former regional centers’ channels). Each video card shows the video’s own YouTube thumbnail, saved with this site and cropped to the video frame, and links to the video on YouTube. Where no thumbnail could be saved, the card shows a plain play icon instead.
- Staff headshots on the staff profiles, provided by the former regional centers.
- Other photographs and graphics inside migrated pages appear as the former regional centers published them; each page names the website it came from.
