Technical assistance to suit your needs
General questions
Assistance with ANA funding opportunities, eligibility, program requirements, and available resources, including general questions unrelated to a specific project or proposal.
Project planning and development
Technical assistance can be provided for potential ANA applicants with skills to explore and plan successful and fundable community projects: guidance on developing community-based ideas, identifying needs, and strengthening project concepts aligned with ANA priorities. No matter what your expertise level, we are always ready to help you develop the capacity you need to start solving your community’s problems. We can help you start a nonprofit, create a project plan, understand Federal cost principles, and much more.
Pre-application assistance and draft review
Individualized assistance for organizations preparing ANA applications, including guidance on application components, responsiveness to NOFO criteria, and draft review. Applicants receive an in-depth review of their draft application prior to being submitted to ANA.
- For pre-application review, ANA requires that the application is at least 75% complete. The Center can provide up to 16 hours of application review per project application.
- Please request technical assistance as soon as possible; priority for pre-application review is provided on a first come, first served basis.
- While we provide guidance and feedback to strengthen your application, we do not write proposals on behalf of applicants.
Unsuccessful and unfunded applicants
Unsuccessful ANA applicants who want to improve their application can get help strategizing ways to improve the application or project concept for resubmission in the next funding cycle.
Post-award support for current grantees
Assistance for ANA recipients with grant implementation, including reporting requirements, budget modifications, amendments, GrantSolutions, and overall grant management.
- Electronic technical assistance is provided to grantees virtually via email, phone, and/or Zoom upon request to help ensure compliance, assist with reporting difficulties, system challenges, and amendments throughout the ANA funding of the project.
- On-site assistance: a more in-depth technical assistance may be provided in person at the grantee’s location. Existing grantees request this through their ANA Program Specialist.
